Types of Skiing in Big Bear Lake

Alpine Skiing
was made popular from the use of ski lifts to the top of a steep slope or hill. This the most common and popular form of skiing
Speed Skiing
is downhill skiing, and considered to be one of the fastest sports that doesn't require a motor vehicle.
Ski Jumping
is when a skier goes down a takeoff ramp in order to jump as far as possible. The first ski jump competition was held in Trysil, Norway in 1862.

is an acrobatic skiing style that uses a steep jump at the end of a hill to send the skier fyling into the air.
